But NASK isn't a kongreso -- its a kursaro! Not the same thing at all!

That's true...
We can drop it if you like. But when I saw the poll, I thought, "Where's NASK?" Looks like it's winning, too!
The poll "What's your favorite kursaro?" would be a little shorter:
1. NASK
2. ?

pri NASK
NASK, laŭ mi, estas duone kursaro, duone kongreso. Alemanaŭ ĝi multe similas al kongreso, sed daŭras multe pli longe. La ĉefa afero ĉe NASK estas la komunumo de E-parolantoj. Oni studas tri horojn kaj duonon ĉiutage, sed dum dudek horoj kaj duono oni vivas en Esperanto-medio. Do . . . mi ne vidas grandan diferencon. Ĉe ARE, ekzemple, ĉu oni ne ekskursas, promenas, prezentas, babilas, klerigas, kc?
