translate.google.com
Even though Esperanto isn't an option at translate.google.com, just for grins I entered an Esperanto word, with the source language set to "Detect language". The response was We are not yet able to translate from Esperanto into English.. It also detects Esperanto when words are plural, accusative, participles... Yeah, the detection code is probably independent and doesn't mean that the translation code knows anything about Esperanto (yet!), but the response sounds promising.

I noticed that also.
I decided to start studying Esperando and thought it might be helpful if I could find something that would translate phrases so that I could check my progress. I noticed that translate.google.com didn't have Esperanto listed, so I tried one word with a capped letter using auto-detect to see what would happen and I got that message. Like you said... looks promising.

It doesn't know enough,
It doesn't know enough, however, to distinguish Ido, Toki pona, and some other constructed languages from Esperanto.
