Tertremo en Ĉinio - pli da informo Jen raportoj el Ĉinio pri la lastatempa terura tertremo. Dankon al nia samideano WANG Xigeng por la raportoj. En azia listgrupo aperis multaj retmesaĝoj plenplene de kondolencoj kaj bedaŭroj pri la katastrofo. Esperanto-USA donis unu el la plej fruaj tiaj mesaĝoj post la tertremo. Mi avertas vin, ne rigardu la jenajn retpaĝojn, se viaj menso kaj stomako ne pretas por vidi la fotojn kaj filmojn. Okazis 7,8-grada tertremo en sudokcidenta parto de Ĉinio - raportas filipo

Ĉiu homo en la mondo gravas. Ĉiu homo unikas kun sia propraj talentoj kaj spertoj. Kiam ni perdas eĉ unu homon, ni ploras kaj sentas la perdon. Ni Esperantistoj malĝojas pro la perdo, kaj konscias plu pri la graveco de la vivo.
Kiam venis la novaĵo el Ĉinio, mi tujtuj sentis la perdon ĉar mi jam havas amikojn en Ĉinio. Antaŭ ol mi Esperantistiĝis, mi ne estus sentinte tiun senton tiel forte. La UK ĵus okazis en Ĉinio. Ni havas multe da literaturo el Ĉinio en Esperanto, verkita, eldonita, au tradukita tie. Ni lernas multe pri la homoj kaj ties kulturo per la libroj, per la elsendo de Ĉina Radio Internacia, per interreto, kaj per rekta amikeco.

Why report?
I take the time to react to this news because of a personal experience in 1970 in Peru, where the Red Cross reported over 300,000 dead in an earthquake. The official count was 53,000, but most of the damage was in the mountainous areas where there were no official lists of citizens. The Red Cross count of fatalities was many times higher than the government count.
We shuttled in our C-130 back and forth from dirt fields to the airport in Lima many times a day, transporting victims, supplies, medical and search personnel. We worked beyond the limits of our official crew day (14 hours / day) and were totally beat at the end of the first week.
One day we returned to the airport at Lima to find that a Russian cargo plane had its crew were posing for the press, showing they had come to help in the rescue. We never saw that plane in the stricken area, and that which really bothered us.
It is all too easy to envision what the workers are going through in China, searching through rubble, transporting victims as fast as they can, working long days in horrible conditions with life at risk.
By comparison, I had an easy job in 1970 in Peru, sitting in a plane doing the navigating and keeping up with the paperwork. The medical and search teams were the real servants. My hat is off to all those working in recovery in China.
We (Esperanto-USA) have already sent messages of our prayers and condolences to our Esperanto friends in China, and we wish them the best in a bad situation.
