Kantu Kanade! at Seattle's NW FolklifeKIRO Newsradio 710 will be our sponsor (seriously!) when Seattle Esperanto-singers take the Narrative Stage tomorrow at Northwest Folklife. This will be the first Esperanto singalong in Folklife's 36-year history. If anybody has a decent tape recorder and would like to tape us "Live! At Folklife!" this would be welcome. Mel/Munro (singer Reiff Olsen and keyboardist Verne Eke) will lead the singing, which will include their three main Esperanto numbers (they actually sing in Esperanto for pay, I'm so jealous! ;-) Min venu milde (Come softly to me), Negrokvaratala Pavobal' (Darktown Strutters' Ball), and Hantrajdo sur Cxiel' (Riders in the Sky). Please come down if you possibly can, to lend support to the notion that there actually are Esperanto-speakers (and -singers) in this town. Pavlina's making ten little stick horses we can ride in pantomime during "Ghost Riders". And be sure to contact KIRO radio to thank them for their support of Esperanto! Who knows what might come of that!? Haruo By the way, Mel/Munro are planning to produce a public-access cable TV show in the coming year, which will feature Esperanto singing (as well as other musical stuff they do).

Kantu Kanade! kantlisto
La oficiala titolo de la programo estas "Kantu Seatlo! presents Kantu Kanade! Across the 49th in Esperanto. (La usona-kanada landlimo estas la ĉi-jara temo de la festivalo.) Krom la tri menciitaj furorkantoj de Mel/Munro, la programo verŝajne prezentos ankaŭ jenajn aliajn:
Ni distribuos la tekstojn al la ĉeestantaro por ebligi provkunkantadon. Estos iomete da informado pri Esperanto, sed la emfazo estos pri la kantado. Estas Folklife, ne World Languages day ;-)
