by air

New York City is served by three major airports: JFK, Newark Liberty, and Laguardia. Both JFK and Newark Liberty airports provide light rail service to commuter railways entering Manhattan at Penn Station, which is within walking distance of the Fashion Institute. Taxi and airport shuttle are alternatives for travel from all three airports.

by train

For East Coast residents Amtrak service is available to Penn Station, New York (do not confuse with Penn Station in Newark, New Jersey).

by automobile

Attendees who travel by car should plan to park their cars in a garage at a rate of $20 to $40 per day for the duration of the weekend.

From the south or west it is recommended to enter Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel or George Washington Bridge. From the north use the Henry Hudson Parkway and West Side Highway. From the east use the Midtown Tunnel.

by bus

Buses to New York arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. Ride the subway or a taxi to FIT.

In Manhattan: The city center is well suited to walking and public transport, with extensive subway and bus systems.

Registration will begin on Friday afternoon, probably around 3 or 4 pm in Dubinsky Student Center (more definite information will follow). The Friday evening "Interkona Vespero" social will begin about 7pm on the 8th floor of the Dubinsky Student Center.
