Radio Polonia: Now it's January 10th?

Apparently the restructuring continues at Polskie Radio, and what was once known as Radio Polonia is now the External Service of Polish Radio. Does this indicate a financial crisis or mismanagement? I think it's the listener interest shown in articles like this (and in Gazeta Wyborcza) that has allowed the Esperanto programs to continue past Dec.15, 2006. I am confident that, in due course, Gabi will inform us listeners about what she is capable of producing for us in Esperanto.

I was pleased to see Peter Gentle's apology (posted in response to your "Radio Polonia reaperis?!"). He's an entertaining broadcaster and a good sport, despite his initial misinformation that may have negatively influenced some listeners. However, why does he discount the one hard piece of evidence he has for measuring the number of listeners? (Webpage hits might also be counted.) Saying that "Esperantists are prolific letter writers" seems to me like a back-handed compliment, as if he assumes that Esperantists are nutbars who have nothing better to do. Well, I've spent way more time on this than I wanted, but if it helps Polskie Radio continue the broadcasts in Esperanto, then I'll do what I can. They are extremely good at it, and they reach a lot of literate and prolific people with their Esperanto broadcasts.
