Ĉi tiu estas la tria, kaj verŝajne (sed ne certe) fina, en la serio de tri facillegaj romanetoj pri la problema vivo de Katrina, juna sveda instruistino en Gotenburgo, la dua urbo de Svedio.

La romaneto komenciĝas per la morto de la patrino de Katrina, kio ne nur malfeliĝigas ŝin kaj lasas ŝin tute sola en la mondo, sed ankaŭ lasas ŝin kun tute nenia informo pri la eventuala identeco de ŝia iama patro; do Katrina havas nenian familion. Dum somera ferio ŝi iras al Esperanto-kunveno en Bretonio, kaj en Bretonio ŝi renkontas kaj enamiĝas al juna turisma gvidisto kies fako estas la keltaj restaĵoj de la regiono (starŝtonoj, menhiroj, k.s.). Li tamen, kiel antaŭaj amantoj, perfidas ŝin, kaj ŝi revenas al Svedio, kie baldaŭ evidentiĝas, ke ŝi ne longe restos sen ia ajn familio. Cetere, ŝi trovas malnovan foton de la patrino kaj nekonata viro, kaj komencas spuri tiun homon, kiun ŝi (ĝuste) supozas esti ŝia patro ...

Kiel la ceteraj romanetoj en la serio, ĉi tiu celas ne nur distri sed ankaŭ instrui; la libro enhavas nur 464 diversajn morfemojn, el kiuj la verkinto kreis 8 478 vortojn. Ĉiu ĉapitro uzas relative simpla lingvaĵo (ekz-e mankas participoj), kvankam la lingvaĵo fariĝas malpli simpla dum oni progresas tra la libro. La plimultaj ĉapitroj havas nur du paĝojn — la plej grandaj havas nur tri — kaj fine de ĉiu ĉapitro estas glosaro kun la malplej konataj vortoj, kiuj havas difinojn en Esperanto kaj ekvivalentojn en la angla kaj japana lingvoj.

Bona libro por homo, kiu ĵus finis komencgradan kurson pri Esperanto.

This is the third, and probably (but not certainly) the last, in the series of three easy novellas about the problematic life of Katrina, a young Swedish teacher in Gothenburg, Sweden's second city.

The novella begins with the death of Katrina's mother, which does not only make her unhappy and leave here quite alone in the world, but also leaves here with no information at all about the possible identity of her sometime father; so Katrina has no family. During a summer vacation she goes to an Esperanto meeting in Brittany, and in Brittany she meets and falls in love with a young tourist guide whose specialty is the Celtic remains in the region (standing stones, menhirs etc.). But he, like previous lovers, betrays her, and she returns to Sweden, where it soon becomes obvious that she is not going to remain long without any kind of family. In addition, she finds an old photograph of her mother and an unknown man, and begins to trace that man, whom she (correctly) supposed to be her father ...

Like the other novellas in the series, this one aims not only to please but also to teach; the book contains only 464 different morphemes, from which the author has created 8,478 words. Every chapter uses relatively simple language (e.g. there are no participles), although the language becomes less simple as you advance through the book. The majority of chapters have only two pages — the longest have only three — and at the end of every chapter there is a glossary with the least known words, which have definitions in Esperanto and equivalents in English and Japanese.

A good book for a person who has just finished a beginner-level course in Esperanto.
