In the forums in Duolingo.com and Lernu.net, and in Facebook, such as
Esperanto USA - Usono there are more and more posts from learners looking for somebody to speak Esperanto with in their community. Recently the interest has been in Michigan, Southern California, Alabama, Alaska, and Texas, but many are looking.
In these forums and blog comments, learners are finding one another and creating conversation circles, groups, and clubs.
If you are looking for a local group, go the the facebook pages for Duolingo Esperanto Learners, or the Esperanto USA - Usono and look at the messages. Leave a note and lets get connected!

PARALELA UNIVERSO - August 20, 2016
Paralela Universo is a one-day celebration of Esperanto held in various locations throughout North America. The idea is to give people a chance to speak Esperanto in person, face-to-face, and to make some new friendships and pleasant memories. Our goal is that anyone in North America who wants to participate will be able to do so without having to travel very far - we are hoping for a maximum driving distance of four hours, and ideally less than that. The events consist of lunch, a group activity, and dinner, running approximately 12pm-8pm.
